I have received some exciting news that I wanted to share with you ....
Over the Christmas period Stampin Up! (Aust/NZ) put out a competition to create a a wedding invitation. The winner of the competition would then get published in a wedding-themed article for Scrapbook Creations magazine.
So, why not .... I gave it a go and created a couple of ensembles:

This black and white set contains an invite, placecard, pillowbox favor and lined envelope. I used whisper white and basic black cardstock, Mocha Morning Specialty DSP, rhinestones and black ribbon. The only stamping here is on the tiny tag in the favor.
A very simple, yet classic and timeless set.
With that, I thought that maybe I had better create something with a little more stamping.
So I created this set:

This second photo shows the backside of the placecard - a quote from the same stamp set

This set is created with the Happiness Shared stamp set, which uses every stamp in the set. I wanted to create a soft black and white with a pop of colour.
All the images were inked with Basic black ink, stamped off first and then stamped to achieve a soft black/grey toning. The typed text was also lighter shades of black, in fact I did try for a grey colour but the black proved to be more even. I coloured the flowers with a blender pen and pink pirouette ink - leaving the rest uncoloured, a small rhinestone completed the look.
Cardstock was pink pirouette and whisper white.
Out of the two, this pink one is my favourite!!!
So, by now I am sure you can gather the rest ... yep, I received a phone call from Stampin Up to say that I had won! I was over the moon, shocked and a little stunned, cos there were so many BEAUTIFUL submissions and each one equally deserving to win and definitely worth credit.
So on that note a little shout out to all the my fellow SU demos that I have received emails, text messages and congrats from on Stampinconnection .... "THANK YOU for your congratulations, love and best wishes, I am truly honoured and infinitely grateful. And, I look forward to this opportunity".
The win also includes some not released SU goodies, which have been put in the post and should be arriving tomorrow. My assignment now is to create 4 wedding themed items using these products.
The only unfortunate thing is that I cannot share with you what the products are until they are released in Aust/NZ and I cannot share my project with you until the magazine is published in May.
Thank you for allowing me to share my excitement and my gratitude to my fellow SU demos, and THANK YOU my creative and talented blog readers.
Have a wonderful rest of the week and happy stamping!
