Just Add Ink - 14

This week at Just Add Ink - is Vintage .... I am very very new to vintage, but I do like the style. So many thoughts ran through my mind on what to do, but those thoughts never really eventuated into anything much ...

Anyway, I got onto my Mother's Day project and what I came up with, is sort of vintage .... that is .... I used the Vintage Vogue stamp set ...

Then, I decided that it needed a little treat bag to complete the set

The treat bag features an accordian flower and a punch art flower, 2 little techniques learnt at Swap Sisters.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: Whisper white, Pretty in Pink
Stamp Set: Vintage Vogue set and jumbo wheel - the sentiment was typed in Word and printed
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Old Olive
Accessories: Top Note die, Polka Dot embossing folder, PP ribbon
Non SU: Pearls, white organza ribbon, retro flower punch (bag)

Thank You Swap Sisters and a Colour Challenge

Second time this week ..... and I am doing another "Happy Dance" cos I got some more "Happy Mail" .... my gosh how lucky can a gal get....

I received a "Thank You" gift from Swap Sisters for my stint as Guest Designer for the month of March, which was an experience that I relished and thoroughly enjoyed ... to my surprise and delight, I received this in the post:

So a great big huuuge "Thank You" to Swap Sisters, Sue and the Design Team.

Now, continuing on there is a Colour Challenge at Swap Sisters, your not gonna believe these colours:

With these bright colours .... I felt that that only things that look great in brights are .... Flower's, but beware, this is bright .... A Flower Pot Card ... my first attempt and happy to say, not too difficult at all, just fiddly ....

I made up the colours in Cardstock (but used YoYo Yellow instead of Summer Sun) and as I did not have the inks to match I used the next closest match - Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Regal Rose.

All the flowers were cut out with the Circle Scallop Punch and Boho Blossoms Punch, and the faux buttons were made with the 1/2" circle punch (5 circles glued together and topped with Crystal Effects), and sponged edges.

Oh by the way, if you would like to have a go at the Flower Pot card ..... great for Mothers Day, I got this tutorial from Stephanie Luman's Blog.

Guest Designer at Swap Sisters

Last month (March) I had the privilege of being the first ever Guest Designer for Swap Sisters. My task was to create 6 cards with a matching holder (bag, box etc), so after much thinking and deliberating ... I came up with something that's been around for a little while, but has been a little quiet on the blogging front .... time to make a come back I thought ....

Anyway, this is what I created:
A set of 4 large cards, matching envelopes - with a selection of sentiments
A set of 4 note cards, matching envelopes
And a Gift Box with a bottom drawer - for the extras - stamps, pen and notepad

The majority of the products I used were SU:
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Kraft, Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette, Bella Bleu DSP
Ink: Not Quite Navy, Sahara Sand, Pretty in Pink
Stamp Sets: Happy Moments, Vintage Labels, Baroque Motifs, Short n Sweet
Well, I hope you have had a fabulous Easter break, ate heaps of choccies and crafted well into the wee hours. And so in the meantime, be good, be safe and happy stamping!!!
